Here we go, collectively into government imposed shut down. Jumping on the band wagon, I'm in agreement that our government is doing the right thing and they have responded swiftly in unchartered waters.

There's been so much chat about what we can and can't do as surfers. It's going to be an ever changing playing field, so what is right today will no doubt be erroneous next week. I think it's foolish for anyone with a voice to encourage anyone to go surfing. This isn't a 4 week weekend.  Surfers are selfish, we pride ourselves on our individuality and living outside of normality. But this isn't the time to be all consumed with your own self.

UP DATED Will I be surfing... probably NOT. I live at the beach, but I still have to drive to the beach a couple of minutes. As of Wednesday arvo the NZ Police made it very clear that Level 4 means driving for essentials only.  For me surfing is everything, it’s my fitness [don’t laugh] it’s my mental leveller, it has been my job. This is gonna be challenging, but here we go; thinking selfless for a greater good not selfish.

Don't be a dick about it. Exercise some common sense.
