Day Of Days

In the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, 2023, the sand at South Piha was pushed out creating one of, if not the best bank on Piha’s legendary Bar. The bank remained and in fact groomed itself to perfection. On April 19th all the elements aligned, perfect light offshores all day, a super low tide and a steadily rising 16 second south swell. Big call? For sure. But many locals will remember it as the Day of Days.
